In Provence, the knights from the village of Les Baux chose the cypress tree as a symbol of their strength and honor, and a bright star in the sky as their guiding force. In honor of their courage, L'OCCITANE has created a sensual and mysterious blend of cypress and incense named Eau de Baux.

My Signature Scent

Bought this paired up with the deodorant with the same name. I loved the scent so much, that I purchased a second bottle. Hints of incense and a little bit of vanilla in the base note. The sillage is decent and the staying power on me lasts about 6 hours. It’s more suited as wither a Fall or Winter scent. A lot of reviews on here claim that it reminds them of Tom Ford’s – Vanille Tobacco, but to me it’s reminiscent of Serge Lutens – Chergui, but in a more subtle and less sickenly sweet scent.

Refined Masculinity In A Bottle

Quite a manly scent. But old school manly. Masculine like the previous Dos Equis spokesman was all vintage, yet popular. I am a cologne n00b. Used to use Axe body spray thinking I was all that. My first real manly cologne was a gift. This one, I actually went out did the research, tested the product, and put down my own money. Me! It smells like cigars, and tobacco they say. I can envision that. Seriously. This is like Cuba, or someplace hot, in a bottle. Where the people want to smell you, even though you’re perspiring like heck but nobody cares, because you got this on! It’s not overpowering like Aqua di — something. That one that all guys seem to crave. I prefer smelling unique. Does not last super long, or maybe my nose is already acclimated to it. But I can still pick up hints of it on my wrists at end of the day.

Of surprise was discovering the longevity was quite good; on my skin

This was a “blind buy,” having not tried it at all. Of course, I did my research and read many reviews. The cedar and vanilla notes are clearly distinguishable and the cologne does not smell “artificial,” at all. Of surprise was discovering the longevity was quite good; on my skin, colognes just sort-of soak in, but L’Occitane Eau Des Baux stays with me for plus/minus eight hours. Oh, and the price was right, too!

Great Service – I tried to buy it direct from L’Occitane and it was out of stock! I was doing some other shopping on Amazon and I thought I’d see if they had it and sure enough – within 2 weeks I had this unbelievable fragrance for our son! Every year he asks me to select a new fragrance for him for Christmas! He told me that he always gets so many compliments whenever he wears my gifts! I have always loved L’Occitane for years so I thought he might too!! I had to sniff it before I wrapped it. It is a perfect blend of spice, wood and anything else exotic you can think of. Perfect for any man! It’s not overwhelming – it’s even a bit mysterious! A winner. I don’t think a teen could carry it off but it’s perfect for a man!

Smells nice. Seems to hold best on clothing. Doesn’t last terribly long. Can be a subtle scent. I seem to use a lot – so I think I like it.

Retains Its Allure Longer

I have high standards when it comes to products like this. For many years, I used a set of Polo products from Ralph Lauren. As a local shopper, it has been impossible to match toiletries like I can on Amazon, with its ‘family’ of sub-merchants. I bought this Baux product from one source and the matching deodorant stick from another source. Since Polo was my benchmark I still refer to that: this product has the same level of quality. The fragrance is pleasant, subtle and lasting over the course of eight hours. Should you apply it after-shower and just before bedtime, its scent will linger on your pillow case in the morning. Some shoppers will find the product seems expensive…but in a spray atomizer bottle it goes a long way. Drugstore blends are fine for most shoppers and I have nothing against the ‘name’ brands. I just want something that is a bit more subtle and retains its allure longer through the day.

I love this scent, but it seems to fade very quickly.

Great, masculine scent. Has a little Tom Ford ‘Tobacco Vanille’ to it without the absurd price. My fiancĂ© loves it.
