I started using Anthelios sunscreen over ten years ago before it was approved by the FDA for sale in the US. It was the biggest selling, most highly researched, most effective sunscreen in the world, but because the licensing was owned by a European company the US Big-Pharma lobby was able to block it’s sale here for years. So I used to order it from a Canadian pharmacy online. I lived in Palm Springs, CA at the time so I needed the best, most effective sunscreen available and because the temps there spend half the year in the triple-digits, I needed something that wouldn’t just sweat off. Anthelios was the ticket! The only downside was that it cast a whitish tint to my skin – not a thick zinc-like effect, but a pale layering that gave my skin a pallor so I always had to wear foundation and makeup over it… even when I was going to the pool or golfing! It was inconvenient, but it was still extremely more effective than anything that was available here, and since skin cancer runs in my family I preferred dealing with the inconvenience and staying alive.

Best on the market

As a dermatologist, I know Anthelios is the best broad spectrum sunscreen out there, but it is often hard to find. I order mine online. In the past, it has been a pretty opaque white product and hard to not look smeared with residue. This REALLY goes in well. I am fragrance sensitive so Fragrance Free is a plus ( and even if you aren’t allergic to fragrance, who wants to go around smelling like a fruit salad?). Best on the market so far.

The best we have found. Worth every penny!

This is the ONLY sunscreen we use in our house! Yes, it’s pricy but, if you value your skin, it’s worth every penny! For decades we have purchased a variety of sunscreens in a myriad of SPFs for stores local to us. We would go to the dermatologist and find we had terrible sun damage or worse skin cancer. We’d complain that we always wore sunscreen and very got sunburned. Our dr said our sunscreen was probably keeping us from burning but, that’s all it was doing. The sun was still damaging our skin!

It goes on silky smooth and dries instantly. You do not feel like you are wearing sunscreen. It has no noticeable aroma for those of you who are worried about strong smells. I believe it is a little pricey but I wore it all summer and I did not get burned so I was happy with the purchase.

Really meant to order same brand but at 50 spf. I can use the lower spf during southern California winter. Recommended by my dermatologist and was told not to go below 30 spf so I am safe. Also seems to leave less of the yellow color on my clothing.

I’m obsessed with this sunscreen. It goes on so lightly that it doesn’t feel like anything is on your skin. Even with reapplication, it doesn’t feel heavy or build up. It also offers excellent sun protection. I’m very fair skinned, and I’ve taken it to Puerto Rico, Aruba, and Puerto Vallarta and have returned from vacation without getting burnt.

I was tempted not to leave a good review–I LOVE this stuff so much, I want to make sure they’re never out! This product feels lovely to put on, melts into skin and leaves it hydrated (normally, I would put on moisturizer on top) without anything else. Great coverage and protection, too.

Nice, reliable daily sunscreen at a price

Sometimes hard to tell wherher sunscreen works. I’m zealous about sun protection; this seems to work and has all of the touted latest and greatest skin-preservation elements and a great reputation. It’s pricey, but I like the texture. Light enough to wear under makeup/daily if – and only if – applied lightly. Dislikes – price, bit of a sunscreen smell, and is irritating to eyes but not to my skin (dry) – no issue there.

Product is great, non-greasy and great for my daughter’s ultra sensitive …

Product is great, non-greasy and great for my daughter’s ultra sensitive skin. Lid was broken on arrival so some of the product was leaking out & arrived messy but the product itself is good.

I have to be outside a lot for my job. Even though it is a little more expensive, this sunscreen is totally worth it. It does not feel greasy or heavy on skin. Some sunscreens leave a stinging feeling on my face after applying. This one does not.
